The inaugural “Match in the Mountains” took place in 2014.  Brian Brainard and Scotty Herman, members at opposite clubs, decided a match would be the only way to decide who had the better players.

The event has become more about sportsmanship and the love of the game, although the competition is still an interracial part of the match.

Rondout won the cup the first year, beating out Tarry Brae by a slim margin.  The second match, in 2015 saw both clubs match points, allowing Rondout to “retain” the cup.
